The Leader’s Sayings

In one sense, the role played by CHP during the First Republic was played by AKP in the Second Republic, but within a shorter period of time. It is possible to talk –without a doubt– about the slide of hegemony between the monopolies of capital and power. There is –certainly– no Chinese wall between the two dominant powers. Rather, they share many ideological and political institutions in the Republic.

However, there are important differences, and therefore points of disagreement and contradiction between them. The conflicts ostensibly revolve around the axis of secularism – Sharia, most commonly referred to in the debate over the hijab. Essentially, there are serious ideological, political, economic and cultural contradictions and conflicts between the two dominant teams
