The crisis prevailing in modern structures (capitalism, nation-state, and industrialism) within the world and Turkey alike during the 1970s, as well as the realities resulting from the ideological conflict raging at that time, had a significant and important share in shaping the PKK. Despite the many errors and shortcomings it contained, its role was specific in forming the martyrs of the struggle.
