* That is, the massacres were not simple civilian fascist operations, but rather a continuation of a historical genocide supported and sponsored by NATO’s Gladio network. By declaring the PKK in Diyarbakir, we were providing an answer to those massacres. These historic steps were taken, and these massacres were committed in return, in the year when Bülent Ecevit’s government was dying and taking its last breaths. It was also the year when the counter-guerrillas seized the initiative. An attempt was made to assassinate Ecevit himself. The Taksim massacre had also been committed a year earlier by the same force.
