KCK: The current process is based on the legacy of the July 14 resistance
“The current process initiated by leader Abdullah Öcalan is based on the legacy of the July 14 resistance that saved our people from annihilation and gave us the consciousness and will to struggle for freedom,” KCK said.

The Co-Presidency of the KCK Executive Council released a statement marking the 43rd anniversary of the historic resistance of July 14.
The KCK statement on Sunday includes the following:
“The Manifesto for Peace and Democratic Society marks the beginning of a new historical phase in our struggle for freedom. We are approaching the 43rd anniversary of the historic resistance of July 14, which we celebrate as our National Day of Honor. On this occasion we commemorate the immortal martyrs of this great historical resistance, Hayri Durmuş, Kemal Pir, Akif Yılmaz, and Ali Çiçek, with great respect and gratitude. We bow before their precious legacy. By commemorating them, we at the same time remember all the martyrs of revolution and democracy. We reaffirm our commitment to the martyrs and the promise we made to them. The Apoist struggle for freedom, which developed on the basis of the resistance of July 14 and achieved great historical developments, will undoubtedly bring about new historical developments based on the legacy of July 14, drawing on it and carrying on its spirit. It is this struggle that will bring our people the freedom they have striven for throughout history.
The current process initiated by Kurdish people’s leader Abdullah Öcalan with his ‘Call for Peace and Democratic Society’ is based on the continued resistance of the resistance of July 14 and its legacy. It saved our people from annihilation and gave us the consciousness and will to struggle for freedom. It is based on the spirit, determination, and style of struggle of this tradition. Therefore, it is necessary to put the resistance of July 14 more in focus than ever before and work on deepening the understanding of this historical development. Kurdish people’s leader Abdullah Öcalan defined in his call dated June 19, 2025, that the ‘Manifesto for Peace and Democratic Society’ is taking the place of our first manifesto, ‘The Path of the Kurdistan Revolution’.
The historic July 14 resistance developed on the basis of the principle of resisting colonialism and genocide and defending existence against denial and annihilation, as outlined in Kurdish people’s leader Abdullah Öcalan’s ‘The Path of the Kurdistan Revolution’. This struggle broke the denial imposed on the Kurdish people and gave new life to our people. Today, our freedom struggle stands on the brink of creating new historical developments based on this historical legacy. Our freedom struggle will fulfill its historic role by bringing freedom to the Kurdish people and contributing greatly to the struggles for freedom, equality, and solidarity of the peoples of the Middle East and the world with the principles of the Democratic Nation, Democratic Socialism, and Democratic Communalism.
On this basis, we once again respectfully commemorate all the martyrs of the revolution and democracy in the person of comrades Kemal, Hayri, Akif, and Ali, the martyrs of the historic July 14th. We call on our people and international friends everywhere to commemorate the martyrs of the historic July 14th, to learn about their historical struggle, and to organize on this basis to develop the struggle of the new era
