Current Middle Eastern societies will not be able to escape from the suffocating crisis they are suffering from except to the extent that they achieve communal transformation in all aspects, foremost among them the economic communes. In other words, there is no way out without a commune. Historical and cultural traditions cannot allocate space for them or ensure their continuity in the present day except through communal life. It is impossible to imitate traditions. But it is also impossible to live without traditions. On the other hand, historical and social life will not attain its true meaning unless traditions feed on current creative values that are not based on imitating or denying traditions. Communal economic traditions play a key role in this. Economic communes are essential for all countries. The way to block the path to unemployment and social collapse is to shift to communal activity. What falls on agriculture and the village, in accordance with the newly emerging communal mentality and its organization in particular, is the most valuable form of revolutionary activity.

True revolutionist means achieving the communal life that enables our historical existence and establishes its foundations in all social fields, with the economic field at the forefront. Just as democratic federalism and democratic autonomy are indicators of the organization and institutionalization of the political life of a democratic nation, the federation of communal economic units is also evidence of the organization and institutionalization of economic life. On the other hand, the “Federation of Communal Economic Units” is an expression of the economic foundation of the “Union of Democratic Nations in the Middle East” at the local, national, and regional levels. The fact that the economic units called “kibbutz” (in Israel, which is the nucleus of the dominant power) closely resemble the communal economy is a conclusive proof of the superiority of the communal economy. If the goal is to overcome Israel’s hegemony as a nation-state, the only way to achieve this is transition to the communal economy in the economic sphere. Furthermore, the path to liberation from global capitalist hegemony and all forms of its monopolistic exploitation passes through achieving and strengthening of the new communal economy, which constitutes the material foundation for equality, freedom, and democracy.
