Women in the city of Çil Agha expressed overwhelming emotions after hearing a historic video message from Leader Abdullah Ocalan, the first of its kind in 27 years, describing the moment as a “new birth” and “indescribable joy.” They emphasized that his physical freedom is the ultimate goal that will crown these feelings.
While a group of women had gathered at the Kongra Star Center in Çil Agha, in the Jazira Canton, to read the leader’s latest message addressed to Jineology, the session suddenly turned into a celebration hall following the broadcast of the historic video message from Leader Abdullah Ocalan. The video, aired on Wednesday (July 9), marked the first time he had been seen in 27 years of absolute isolation.
ANHA agency captured scenes of overwhelming joy that filled the hall, as participants shared their emotions upon seeing and hearing the leader again, for the first time in over a quarter-century, using powerful and heartfelt words that reflected the deep bond and loyalty to his journey and ideas.
“Indescribable Joy”
Fatima Rustam, one of the participants, said: “One of the happiest pieces of news I’ve ever received in my life, especially as we were already in a session reading his latest message. During the break, we were surprised by the broadcast of the video. What struck us first was his voice, which we’ve been deprived of for 27 years. There are no words that can truly express how happy and joyful I was to hear him again.”
She added: “Since his arrest until today, we have never deviated from his path. For 27 years, his guidance has been our compass. Despite all the conspiracies aimed at severing our connection with him, we have always foiled them and become even more determined to stay on course. Today, after hearing his words and instructions via video, we reaffirm that we will remain committed and will not retreat until we achieve his physical freedom.”
“A Call as Great as Its Value”
Fida Assaf stated: “The call of Leader Abdullah Ocalan, the leader of peace and democracy, was a powerful one that reflects his profound place in our hearts. Hearing his voice today felt like a personal rebirth. We will continue to follow in his footsteps until our last breath because he carries a great humanitarian mission.”
She continued: “As a member of the Arab community, I am proud to have chosen the path of Leader Abdullah Ocalan. I am proud because he has always been, and still is, a true friend to women and their cause, even in the most difficult circumstances. Hearing his voice today brought us joy, and we will organize ourselves according to every instruction he gave in his speech. He is the only one who struggled and sacrificed for us. His freedom is our demand, and we will continue to pursue it until it is achieved.”
“Our Joy Will Be Complete When We See Him Among Us”
Hafiza Mohammed Ahmed, who was waving a flag bearing the leader’s image, said: “Today, we received the happiest news we’ve been waiting for over the past 27 years without weariness or despair. We always dreamed of hearing his voice again, and our joy will not be complete until he is freed and among us once more.”
She added: “Our constant demand for the past 27 years has been his physical freedom, and now the time has come to realize this demand. Our happiness, our goals, and the goals of our martyrs will never be fulfilled as long as the leader remains imprisoned. We will accept nothing less than his liberation and will continue our struggle until it happens.”
Hafiza concluded by saying: “Leader Abdullah Ocalan holds immense value for us. Hearing his voice today has renewed our hope of meeting him and seeing him among us. In this moment, full of joy and determination, we renew our vow that we will not back down until this dream becomes reality.
