Siblings of Imrali detainees submit new visitation request

Today, the brother of Leader Abdullah Ocalan, Mohammed Ocalan, through his lawyer Mazlum Dinç, as well as the brother of detainee Omar Khairi Kunar, Ali Kunar; the brother of Hamili Yildirim, Polat Yildirim; and the sister of Veysi Aktaş, Meliha Aktaş, submitted a new request to the Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office in the Turkish city of Bursa and to the Imrali Prison Directorate to visit them.

Lawyers from the Al-Asr Human Rights Office submit two requests every week to the Bursa Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office and the Imrali Prison Directorate to meet with them. Their siblings also submit two requests each week, totaling 16 requests per month, without receiving any response.

The system of torture and annihilation continues in Imrali, and Leader Abdullah Ocalan is being denied his rights, even those afforded to a prisoner.
