Roken Bakok, a participant in the 12th Congress of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK), stated that during this phase of change and transformation, they will focus on organizing society, women, and youth as their main tasks. She emphasized that “their main goal in the new era is the physical freedom of Leader Apo.”
Speaking at the 12th PKK Congress, participant Roken Bakok gave the following statement:
“First of all, I congratulate the 12th PKK Congress on behalf of Leader Apo. I commemorate all the martyrs of the revolution, especially comrades Fuad and Riza, and we renew our promise to follow their path and be worthy of them. This Congress was held based on Leader Apo’s directives, and it demonstrated the connection of Apoist youth with Leader Apo. The Congress showed how we take every word of Leader Apo as a directive for us. One of the main points of self-criticism addressed to us in this Congress was that we should have achieved the physical freedom of our leader during this 12th Congress. We must definitely achieve Leader Apo’s physical freedom this year.
The leader is everything to us. Certainly, during this phase of change and transformation, we will achieve Leader Apo’s physical freedom through the tasks we have set for ourselves, and we will see our leader. We held our Congress with joy and enthusiasm, and all discussions and decisions were made with this same passion.
We carry out our work and activities in this new phase with Leader Apo, and this gives us great motivation. The PKK has built a strong will for all Kurdish people, women, and youth. Over 52 years of struggle, it has created a great social, cultural, ethical, and emotional value.
We will carry out our activities in this new phase based on the legacy of the PKK and with the spirit of our martyred comrades. On April 4, during the Amara March, Leader Apo presented a thesis for the new phase of youth. He said they must organize themselves everywhere and organize everyone. We will take this as our primary instruction and make it the foundation of all our future activities and tasks in organizing society, women, and youth. All Apoist, national, socialist, and internationalist youth must approach this upcoming phase with this perspective.
The PKK has achieved great accomplishments and victories throughout its 52 years of ongoing struggle. With every march and step, it has revived the Kurdish people and built a great will, especially among women who previously could not even speak. How will we express ourselves as young women? What kind of leadership do we represent? How will we develop our essential self-defense? In other words, we have all found our existence within the PKK from this perspective. We will take every step necessary in the coming phase to achieve the freedom of society. The PKK is a social ideology worldwide and has built a great legacy and memory among all women and youth. We will proceed with this belief and confidence, and we will definitely achieve victory.
We will embrace the legacy that has been left to us and build renewal in our character. With this passion, we will organize ourselves everywhere. This is a major and important matter for us. Of course, everything did not end with the dissolution of the PKK. In the end, it left us a great legacy. For the upcoming phase and for all youth, we can say: build the renewal within yourselves, engage in more activities and efforts, read the words of the leader, and participate in the right way. We can achieve true comradeship with the leader and become worthy of all the martyrs and the leader. Only in this way can we achieve freedom. On this basis, we once again congratulate the 12th Congress of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party, for the leader and for all our people, wishing success and prosperity for everyone.”
